The ABINGTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS will hold a special meeting for the purpose of considering and taking action on the Fiscal Year 2020 Proposed Budget and the Tax Levy and Appropriation Ordinance No. 2171. The special meeting will be held on December 12, 2019, at 7:00 p.m., at the Township Building, 1176 Old York Road, Abington, PA 2nd Floor Board Room. The Board of Commissioners will consider for adoption the Fiscal Year 2020 Proposed Budget and will hold a public hearing on and consider for adoption Ordinance 2171 - “Annual Budget of the Township of Abington for the Year 2020 - Tax Levy and Appropriation Ordinance,” adopting the Fiscal Year 2020 Proposed Budget.
The Ordinance to be considered and acted upon is the following:
ANNUAL BUDGET OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ABINGTON FOR THE YEAR 2020 TAX LEVY AND APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE
The proposed Ordinance to be considered and acted upon on December 12, 2019, has been drafted for the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of Abington Township.
The proposed Ordinance shall, inter alia, approve and adopt the Fiscal Year 2020 Proposed Budget, establish the tax levy assessed on all property and occupations within the Township of Abington for General purposes, Fire purposes, Debt Service purposes, Parks and Recreation purposes, Library purposes and Ambulance purposes; appropriating expenses from the revenues available for the current year for the specific purposes set forth in the Ordinance, which amounts are more fully itemized in the Budget document; and establishing an effective date for the Ordinance and Budget adoption, as more fully set forth in the Ordinance.
Interested members of the public may review the Fiscal Year 2020 Proposed Budget and proposed Ordinance 2171 in its entirety on or before December 12, 2019 at the Office of the Township Manager of Abington Township located at 1176 Old York Road, Abington, PA, Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., or at the Township of Abington’s website, www.abingtonPA.gov. Interested members of the public may also submit written comments on or before December 12, 2019 to the Township Manager, Abington Township, 1176 Old York Road, Abington, PA, 19001.
