Abington Township is proud to offer their residents the opportunity to responsibly recycle obsolete Electronics. We partner with eForce Compliance for this event. This service is available to Abington Township residents ONLY. 

During this event the Abington Township Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) will collect food items for the local food pantry. Residents who donate will earn Go Green Rewards Card credit.

"Anything with a Plug" electronics recycling collection events will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Public Works Highway Yard located at 2201 Florey Lane, Abington, PA 19001 on:

Due to COVID-19, the Local Boy and Girl Scouts Day was cancelled in 2020 and 2021.  

Abington Township began Local Scouts Day in 1957. Today, the event enables boys and girls scouts to grades 4 through 6 to learn about the Township departments and facilities. This event is done in coordination with local scout troops and Abington School District. Once a date is confirmed, scout leaders will reach out for participation beginning in February. Scout Day is typically held in April or May, depending on the school calendar.

Due to COVID-19, Local Student Government Day was cancelled in 2020 and 2021.  

Local Student Government Day provides an opportunity for high school seniors to visit the Township and learn about local government. The day focuses on elected officials  and the administration of Township activities. Students have an opportunity to hear from local and state elected officials, the Township Manager, and key personnel as they visit Township departments.

Residents of Abington Township are encouraged to bring personal and confidential documents and files to Abington Township’s FREE shredding event. No need to remove binder covers, paper clips or staples. All material will be recycled NO businesses.

During trash clean-out weeks, the Township will collect everything you place in your trash cans PLUS any additional normal trash placed in store bought refuse bags you put out with your regular trash on your SCHEDULED trash collection day. 

NO electronics, hazardous waste, construction material or large items will be accepted.
