With generous support from the TC Energy Foundation, the Abington Shade Tree Commission, in partnership with the Willow Grove NAACP, is providing 300 FREE TREES to residents of Abington Township.
- When: Saturday, October 22, 2022 from 9 AM – 12 PM
- There will be tree planting demonstrations at 9 AM and 10 AM.
- Where: Crestmont Park, 2595 Rubicam Ave., Willow Grove, PA 19090
- Who: Abington Township residents only; trees must be planted in Abington Township
- How: 300 native trees will be given away on a first-come, first-serve basis. Unlike the prior giveaway, there is NO pre-registration. Each household may take up to 2 trees, but if 2 are taken, 1 must be a shade tree.
- Trees Offered:
- Shade trees: Red Sunset Red Maple; Heritage River Birch; Black Tupelo; Black Cherry; White Oak; Swamp White Oak
- Understory trees: American Hornbeam; Redbud; Pagoda Dogwood; Flowering Dogwood
