The ABINGTON TOWNSHIP BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, during its regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, August 8, 2024, beginning at 7:00 p.m., will hold a public hearing on and consider for adoption Ordinance No. 2216, regulating the size of billboards. The meeting will be held at the Abington Township Board Room located at 1176 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19001, 2nd Floor and via webinar at https://us06web.zoom.us/j/88216803878. Members of the public are able and encouraged to participate either in-person or by accessing the online meeting. The Ordinance No. 2216 is as follows:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ABINGTON, MONTGOMERY COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA, AMENDING THE CODE OF THE TOWNSHIP OF ABINGTON AT PART II [GENERAL LEGISLATION], CHAPTER 162 [ZONING], BY AMENDING AND RESTATING ARTICLE XXII [SIGNS] TO REGULATE THE SIZE OF BILLBOARDS
The proposed Ordinance to be considered and acted upon on August 8, 2024 has been drafted for the health, safety, and general welfare of the residents of Abington Township. The proposed Ordinance provides for a 200 sq. ft. limit on the sign face of billboards permitted in the BC Business Center Zoning District, where no limit previously existed.
The full text of the proposed Ordinance may be examined or inspected by any citizen during regular business hours (7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday) in the office of the Township, 1176 Old York Road, Abington, Pennsylvania. Interested persons may also examine the full text of the proposed Ordinance at the offices of the newspaper wherein this notice is published, and at the Montgomery County Law Library, Courthouse, Norristown, Pennsylvania.
